چکیده

A brief account of the quantum information dynamics and dynamical programming methods for optimal control of quantum unstable systems is given to both open loop and feedback control schemes corresponding respectively to deterministic and stochastic semi-Markov dynamics of stable or unstable systems. For the quantum feedback control scheme, we exploit the separation theorem of filtering and control aspects as in the usual case of quantum stable systems with non-demolition observation. This allows us to start with the Belavkin quantum filtering equation generalized to demolition observations and derive the generalized Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation using standard arguments of classical control theory. This is equivalent to a Hamilton-Jacobi equation with an extra linear dissipative term if the control is restricted to Hamiltonian terms in the filtering equation. An unstable controlled qubit is considered as an example throughout the development of the formalism. Finally, we discuss optimum observation strategies to obtain a pure quantum qubit state from a mixed one.

Optimal Quantum Feedback Control via Quantum Dynamic Programming

We describe the quantum filtering dynamics for a diffusive non-demolition measurement on an open quantum system. This is then used to determine appropriate feedback controls for the system and the quantum Bellman equation for optimal quantum feedback control is derived. These equations are demonstrated on the fully solvable model of the multi-dimensional controllable quantum particle in a quadr...

Numerical Solution of Optimal Control of Time-varying Singular Systems via Operational Matrices

In this paper, a numerical method for solving the constrained optimal control of time-varying singular systems with quadratic performance index is presented. Presented method is based on Bernste in polynomials. Operational matrices of integration, differentiation and product are introduced and utilized to reduce the optimal control of time-varying singular problems to the solution of algebraic ...

Optimal State Filtering and Parameter Identification for Linear Stochastic Time-Delay Systems

This paper presents the optimal joint state filtering and parameter identification problem for linear stochastic time-delay systems with unknown parameters. The original identification problem is reduced to the optimal filtering problem for incompletely measured polynomial (bilinear) timedelay system states over linear observations with an arbitrary, not necessarily invertible, observation matr...
